CS reviews reconstruction work at Kedarnath Dham

Dehradun, 20 Nov: In connection with the construction work approved at Kedarnath Dham under the disaster management programme, a meeting of the Empowered Committee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh at the Secretariat on Tuesday. The reconstruction works being done at Kedarnath Dham were reviewed at the meeting.

The Chief Secretary obtained information on the progress of developmental works at the Dham from District Magistrate, Rudraprayag, Mangesh Ghildiyal via video conferencing. In the first week of December, the Chief Secretary will inspect the reconstruction works going on at the shrine.

Construction of residential buildings for six teerth Purohits, there, was approved at the cost of Rs 262.71 lakhs after examination by the TAC Finance Department. Approval on getting this work done by the Public Works Department was also given in principle.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash disclosed that, in the years 2013-14 and 2014-15, for the ITIs (Technical Education) for skill development and self-employment, under the special planned help, the government had released a total amount of Rs. 50 crores. He also proposed transferring the remaining amount of Rs 385.96 lakh to the Tourism Department for infrastructure development works.

The meeting was attended by Secretaries Amit Negi, Dilip Jawalkar, Shailesh Bagoli, Additional Secretary Dr Ranjit Sinha, Savin Bansal, etc.
