Mussoorie, 9 Feb: The Masonic Lodge parking construction has been stopped by Mussoorie Nagar Palika Chairman Manmohan Singh Mall alleging that huge corruption had been done while sanctioning the said project by the former Palika Board under the leadership of former Chairman OP Uniyal. He said the Rs 60 lakh spent on the first phase had been wasted. He further announced that the tender of the said parking project had been also cancelled. Manmohan Singh Mall said that now a new DPR would be prepared after purchasing about 1.5 acres of private land and parking for more than 350 vehicles would be constructed. He further said that a huge scam had been carried out by the past board. On the other hand, former Chairman OP Uniyal said that no scam had taken place and the allegations of Mall were baseless. He said the entire proposal had been passed by the Nagar Palika after the approval of the entire Board, Executive Officers and government. He alleged that due to self-interest and to provide benefit to near and dear contractors, Mall had cancelled the tender. He recalled that a proper DPR with sanction map had been passed by the engineers after inspecting the land. The erroneous decision of Mall would lead to the waste of Rs 60 lakhs worth of work already deone.
