Bank staff strike in Mussoorie

Mussoorie, 10 Feb: Banking services in the Queen of the Hills were disrupted today following the strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) all over the nation. The staff of, both, public and private sector banks are on a two-day strike against the proposed banking sector reforms and for immediate revision in wages.
Over a million bank employees and officers working in 27 public sector banks, including the State Bank of India, and 12 private and eight foreign banks, were on a two-day nationwide strike from 10-11 February. The impact of the strike was also been seen in Mussoorie as all the banks were closed. Tourists and locals in Mussoorie have also had to face problems as most of the ATMs in town were not functioning and in some there was no cash.
