Dehradun, 18 Jan: Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat today informed the media persons that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would interact with students from Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi, on 27 January on the theme of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’.
Rawat was addressing a press briefing at the Secretariat Media Centre, here, today. He said that all students, teachers and parents of students from classes 9 to 12 ought to watch the live telecast of this programme. Necessary arrangements are being made in all the schools for this. Students of government, government aided and private schools would also participate in the programme. Two children from Uttarakhand had been nominated for dialogue with the Prime Minister in the ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ programme.
Rawat said that the Governor and the Chief Minister would also participate. Ministers, MPs, MLAs, Padma awardees of the state, dignitaries associated with education, art and culture and public representatives of municipal corporations, municipalities and town panchayats would also join from different areas of the state. This programme would be hosted in about 5500 government, non-government and private schools of the state. A target to include around 10 lakh students had been set for the programme from Uttarakhand.
The Education Minister added that, in view of the wide publicity regarding the programme in the state, from 18 to 23 January, art and painting competitions related to the theme of discussion would be held in schools located in 95 development blocks and 8 municipal corporations of the state. Prizes would be given to those who get the top 10 positions in this competition. Prizes would be given to 25 participants while certificates of participation would be given to all participants. Themes like, ‘Know your freedom fighters’, ‘Our Culture is Our Pride’, ‘My Book My Inspiration’, ‘My Life My Health’, My Dream Startup’, ‘Education without Borders’ and ‘Environmental Protection for Future Generations’ have been decided for the students for the competition. For the teachers, ‘Our heritage’, ‘Education for Skills’, ‘An Enabling Environment for Learning’, ‘Less Load of Syllabus and No Fear of Examination’ and ‘Challenges of Education in Future’ are the themes that had been decided for the competition.
Rawat revealed that some themes had been decided even for the guardians. These included ‘My child My Teacher’ and for Adult Education, the theme was, ‘Make everyone literate’. All this participation is intended to make everyone learn and grow together.
