DEHRADUN, 17 Nov: The Himalayan Public School, Kargi Grant Celebrated its 15th Annual Prize & Sports Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and vigour. The programme was divided into 2 segments. In the first students of Pre – primary and Primary section participated and in the second segment students of VI to XIIth classes participated.
The occasion was graced by Nidhi Nanda – Director, Greenwood Hills school, Dehradun as the Chief Guest in the first phase and for second segment the Chief Guest was Brig. S. N. Rai (Retd). School Chairman Dr. Aditya Arya, Secretary Archita Chaudhary, Head of the Arya family Madhu Arya, School Principal Neena Singh, Dir. Admin. Col V.S. Mall , staff and students were also present on the occasion.
The programme commenced with the National Song and Shabad (Deh Shiva Var Mohe …) followed by March Past and later Oath taking ceremony. The torch of Himalayanites, was lighted by the Chief Guest and release of white balloons depicting Peace and tranquility took place. The students of all the four houses and Junior classes participated in various events with great zeal and enthusiasm and brought honour to their respective houses and classes. The events included Fireman lift race, Shuttle run race, Mixed Relay and Slow Cycle race etc. Demonstration on Self Defence and Yoga was appreciated by one and all. Sports Trophy winner was Dayananda House, Scholastic trophy and Cock House Trophy was bagged by Shradhananda House.
Annual Report was delivered by School Principal Neena Singh Prizes, Medals, Certificates and Trophies were distributed by the Chief Guest. “Anju Arya Memorial Scholarship” of ` 7,000 was given to the meritorious students distributed in various sections.
Dr. Aditya Arya and Brig S. N. Rai (retd) addressed the gathering by motivating the students to attain greater heights in Academics, Curricular and Sports activities and further appreciated the Himalayan family staff and students for excellent well organized Annual Prize and Sports Day. Vote of thanks was proposed by School Vice Principal Sonia Gulati. The programme was efficiently managed by Headmistress Renu Negi, Middle School and Activity Co-ordinator Monica Bhatia, Maths & Science Co-ordinator Shaveta Sethi , Office Co-ordinator Punam Rawat, Estate Incharge Rajnish Thapa. Praise worthy efficient compering by Primary Co-ordinator Radhika Subba and Sr. Co-ordinator Sonia Gupta . The programme concluded with National Anthem.
