86 Year old man reaches Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital from Gwalior for heart treatment

DEHRADUN, 13 Mar: Retd. Honorary Captain Vishna Singh,  reached  Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun all the way from Gwalior. He had come to be treated by Senior Cardiologist and HOD Dr. (Col) Salil Garg. In 2018, it was the same Dr. (Col) Salil Garg who had performed 86 years old Vishna Singh’s angioplasty while being posted at Army Hospital(R&R), New Delhi. Ever since his successful angioplasty, Vishna Singh has been feeling absolutely healthy. In 2018, when he got a heart attack, Dr. (Col) Salil Garg not only carried out his successful Angioplasty but also counselled him in detail.During counseling, Dr. Salil Garg gave an accurate picture of the causes and treatment of heart diseases toVishna Singh,and also made him comfortable and advised him on the precautions to be observed after treatment and the consultation and tests required to be done from time to time after Angioplasty.
Capt.Vishna Singh was so impressed and comforted by the treatment and counseling done by Dr. Salil Garg, D.N.B. (Cardiology) that inspite  his advanced age and the long distance he came all the way from far-off Gwalior to Dehradun to seek consultation from Dr. Salil Garg at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun.He said that he could have consulted at Army Hospital(R&R), New Delhi or any other hospital in Gwalior but he had unending faith in Dr. Salil Garg and had also heard about the reputation of Dehradun’s Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital as an advanced superspecialty hospital that was ethical and scientific in its approach. Besides this, has also done more than 200 B.M.V. procedures. Balloon mitral valvotomy is the one in which the heart valve(mitral) is expanded and when the valve shrinks. At Army Hospital(R&R) also, he was the leading member of the team which pioneered TAVR (procedure in which the Aortic valve is replaced) and Heart Transplantations. He has done his D.N.B. from AHRR, New Delhi before which he has rendered services in difficult areas like Tangdhar and Dharchula. Besides this, he has also worked at Military Hospital, Dehradun. After that, he has worked as a Cardiologist at reputed hospitals likeAHRR, New Delhi, Venkateshwara Hospital, AFMC, Command Hospital(Lucknow) and Fortis Hospital, New Delhi. Speaking over the occasion, Dr. Salil Garg said that along with giving best treatment, it’s equally significant to establish a trusting relationship with the patient. He said that proper counseling is an inseparable part of good treatment. His message for the young medical students is that pursuing super specialty in Cardiology is a bright career option and also it provides immense scope to serve humanity.
