Rudrapur, 19 Jan: State Agriculture and District In-charge Minister Ganesh Joshi today inaugurated a Fan and Pad Polyhouse established by the Food Processing Department at a cost of Rs 8 lakh to train farmers on the hydroponic method at Uttarakhand Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institute. The polyhouse has been funded under the District Scheme.
Joshi said that every drop of water is used properly in this polyhouse, using the hydroponic method. Off-season vegetables and fruits can also be grown in this polyhouse.
He disclosed that the government has decided that more than 50,000 poly houses are going to be set up in the entire state. In 2025, when the state turns 25, production in the field of horticulture and millets will be doubled. In such a situation, these schemes have their own importance.
District President, BJP, Kamal Jindal, District General Secretary, BJP, Amit Narang, Director, UIRD, RD Paliwal, Project Director Himanshu Joshi, SDM Manish Bisht, Chief Agriculture Officer Ajay Kumar Verma, Chief Horticulture Officer Bhavana Joshi, Assistant Director, Fisheries, Sanjay Chhimwal and other officials were among those present.
