Dehradun, 13 Apr: Rajya Sabha MP Anil Baluni too has tested Corona positive even as the state reported 1925 fresh cases of the Covid-19 infection in the past 24 hours, as well as 13 deaths. Baluni shared this information through a tweet today. He said that after testing positive for the infection, he had started his treatment under medical supervision. He also appealed to all that, in view of the sharply rising number of cases, everyone needed to be careful towards preventing the infection.
Meanwhile, Mahant Narendra Giri of Niranjani Akhara, who had been unable to participate in the second Shahi Snan due to Covid infection, was today shifted to AIIMS after complaining of stomach ache. Not only this, four senior officials of the Uttarakhand Secretariat have also tested positive for Corona. These include an Additional Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Secretary and Additional Secretary. Concerned over the rising infection, the Uttarakhand Secretariat Association has demanded a ban on entry of outsiders into the secretariat and for permission to work with just 50 percent staff attendance.
Meanwhile, the state has reported 1925 fresh cases of Corona during the past 24 hours with Dehradun reporting a maximum 775 cases, while Haridwar reported 594 cases. Nainital has reported 217 while US Nagar reported 172 cases during the same period. With this, the total number of active cases in the state has gone up to 9353. During the past 24 hours, over 600 sessions for vaccination were held in the state and during this period 34,799 persons got vaccinated. This is less than the numbers getting vaccinated every day over the past few days. So far, 1,96,964 persons in the state have been fully vaccinated for Corona while 12,00,434 persons have been partially vaccinated in the state, so far.
