Haldwani, 6 Feb: Leader of the Opossition, Dr Indira Hridayesh today claimed that the BJP Government in Uttarakhand had failed on all fronts. She was addressing a press conference at a private hotel here. She claimed that the BJP Governments in the Centre as well as in Uttarakhand were resorting to mere rhetoric. They had failed on all fronts and neither the businessmen nor the farmers were safe in Uttarakhand. Hirdayesh claimed that inflation was very high and very high prices of petrol and diesel were pushing the inflation even higher. She added that unemployment was also at its peak under the BJP rule.
The Leader of the Opposition claimed that the new farm laws were exploitative of the poor farmers. She added that the state government had also failed to provide any relief to the poor farmers. Congress would make a new law in respect of MSP if and when it came to power at the Centre. She promised that when Congress would return to power in the next assembly elections in Uttarakhand, it would ensure rapid development of Uttarakhand and Uttarakhand would then emerge as a major tourism state. She added that Congress would fight the elections on the promise of turning Uttarakhand into a major tourism state as this would ensure far greater employment to the local people. The BJP did not do anything to tackle unemployment in the state, but the Congress did not want people of the state to suffer due to unemployment. Not only this, the Congress would also be providing free water supply and water and power supply at low rates.
She added that the state government did not appear to be serious in hosting the Mahakumbh in Haridwar this time though this was the biggest religious festival which was held on a periodic basis. She also criticised the state government for not making any use of the International Stadium built in Haldwani for sporting activities and had failed to even provide land for ISBT here. She said that the Ayushman and Golden cards were being made but people were not getting the benefit of this. The BJP had promised Lok Ayukta in 100 days but had forgotten this after coming to power.
