Dehradun, 13 Nov: Sympathy alone cannot save people in chronic conditions, but blood can. A drop of blood donated is a life saved and this was the strong impulse that guided everyone in an impressive turnout at a blood donation camp held at The Himalayan Public School, here, today.
The camp was held in the memory of the late Anju Arya on her third death anniversary. She was the wife of industrialist, social worker and Chairman of the school, Dr Aditya Arya. The camp was held under the auspices of Mahant Indresh Hospital, Doon Hospital and Rotary Club, Dehradun.
Addressing the gathering, Dr S Farooq recalled the various social works done by Anju Arya. He also talked about how deficiency of blood could lead to life threatening diseases.
During the blood donation Dr S Farooq, Nagma Farooq, President of Rotary club Anoop Kaul, Chairman Dr Aditya Arya, Secretary Archita Choudhary, Vice Chairman (Finance) Ayush Vardhan Arya, Principal Dr Ena Banerjee and almost all staff members participated with great enthusiasm. The donated blood was carefully sealed and transported to the blood bank.
