CM Dhami inaugurates ‘SMART Schools SMART Blocks’ programme of Sampark Foundation

Champawat, 11 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Sampark ‘SMART Schools SMART Blocks’ programme at a function organised here today. Vineet Nayar, Founder Chairman of Sampark Foundation, and senior education department officials were present on the occasion.

Vineet Nayar welcomed the Chief Minister with a bouquet of flowers. The Chief Minister lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the programme. He distributed TV Sets, Sampark FLN TV, Maths and English Kits to the schools of Champawat Block, provided by Sampark Foundation.

The CM stated, “It is a matter of good fortune for our state to have the support of the Sampark Foundation in the field of education. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Vineet Nayar for his immense contribution towards uplifting school education.”

“I urge the education department and the district administration to work hard to ensure the programme’s success. I am confident that the Government SMART Schools will become better than private ones once this programme gets underway,” he added.

The goal of the programme is to improve the learning outcomes of 5484 children by training 274 teachers in 137 schools of Champawat Block. After 100 days of successful implementation, the programme will be extended to Krishu Block of Pauri district.

Vineet Nayar added, “The programme will focus on implementation of Sampark learning resources to make classroom learning joyful for students. The Sampark Team will also develop the capabilities of the teachers to make teaching systematic and easy. The programme comes at no extra cost to the schools. Sampark TV’s interactive user experience is the programmes highlight, revolutionising how students interact with animated learning content. This experience is a significant departure from static textbooks and will enhance students’ learning journey.”

Sampark Foundation has brought its entire range of innovative learning resources into the SMART Schools SMART Blocks Programme. These resources are aligned with the state curriculum and SCERT. The lessons are mapped subject-wise and class-wise with state textbooks and will be provided in 100% of the schools. The resources provided by Sampark are TV Sets in each school, Sampark TV Devices, Sampark Smart Shala Application, Math & English Kit with Sampark Didi Audio Box, 500 Lesson Plans, 1100 Lesson Videos, 450 Activities using TLMs, 2000 subject-wise and class-wise Worksheets, 3000 Questions for Assessment – Sampark Didi Ke Sawal on KBC format, Songs & Experiment Videos for Science Subjects for grades 6-8 and Resource Book for Teachers.

Sampark will train Teachers and Master Trainers on the Sampark pedagogy and resource utilisation aligning with State SCERT and NIPUN Bharat goals. The Sampark team will also train District, Block and Cluster level educational functionaries to monitor the utilisation of TLMs and Resources in the schools and classrooms. It will provide dedicated manpower at the District and Block level for better monitoring and coordination. To encourage all the stakeholders, after effective implementation, the programme would be submitted for a Harvard Business School case study. Also, efforts will be made for the submission of a nomination for the PM’s excellence award for innovation.

The District Administration will also be critical to the programme’s success. The Administration will review the programme at the District and Block levels monthly. Apart from ensuring the deputation of teachers, master trainers and other education functionaries, the district administration will also help Sampark conduct baseline and end-line surveys to gauge the programme’s efficacy in enhancing learning outcomes amongst the children.
