Dehradun, 18 Jun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday released ‘The Legend of Koshyari Bhagat Da’, a book based on the personality and works of Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The function took place at the Mukhya Sevak Sadan in the Chief Minister’s residence.

Dhami expressed gratitude to the authors and publishers of the book for organising the launch of the book on the occasion of the birthday of the BJP stalwart.

While extending good wishes to Bhagat Singh Koshyari on his birthday, the Chief Minister said that every aspect of his personality is inspiring. He is an epitome of spontaneity, and an individual with a mission and purpose. Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is indeed a man of Indian politics, a public leader, an efficient administrator and a thinker. He is also a symbol of self-respect and pride. In the early part of his career, he worked as a politician as well as a skilled teacher to give direction to society. “The presence of a personality of such scholarly and simple nature as the Governor of one of the prominent states of the country makes us all proud,” he stated.

The Chief Minister added that he has had the privilege of working in the social and political fields in the company of Koshyari. Koshyari has reached the summit by living in a normal environment and has achieved greatness through his efforts.

Dhami recalled that Koshyari also has to his credit the completion of the Tehri Dam, which had been pending for 30 years. While serving as the Energy Minister in the state, he contributed to the construction of the dam without worrying about political gains and losses. “Koshyariji has been a man of determination, knowledgeable in all policy matters. He taught that to understand the whole state, try to know about the problems of the people. When the time comes, the good deeds of a person are recognised,” declared the CM.

Dhami added, “We have also learned from Koshyariji to take everyone along, not to discriminate between big and small and help everyone. His life is definitely exemplary and inspirational for all of us.”

Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal described the book as inspirational and Koshyari as a people’s leader with a big heart.  Whether he stays in the chaupal or in the Raj Bhavan, his daily routine remains simple. He said that he too got a chance to move forward under the umbrella of Koshyari.

The author of the book, BS Jogdande, and concept associate Ravi Mohan Agarwal, provided information about the subject matter of the book. The programme was conducted by Dr Devendra Bhasin.

MLAs Savita Kapoor, Sarita Arya, Suresh Gadiya, Mohan Singh Bisht, Director General of Police Ashok Kumar, Special Principal Secretary Abhinav Kumar along with other dignitaries from the state and Maharashtra were present on the occasion.
