New Tehri, 26 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated as the Chief Guest at the “Beti-Bwaryun Ku Kauthig” organised at Pratap Inter College, Bauradi, here on Tuesday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 160 different development schemes worth Rs 415 crore. These included inauguration of 44 schemes worth Rs 201 crore and laying of foundation stones of 116 schemes worth Rs 214 crore.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also visited the exhibition of products, handicrafts manufactured by women self-help groups of the district. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the grounding of MoUs worth Rs 2400 crore out of the Rs 3900 crore worth signed in Tehri during the Investors’ Summit.
The Chief Minister felicitated the women self-help groups that have done excellent work in the district. He also administered an oath to school students to make Devbhoomi drug free by 2025. While congratulating the women, the Chief Minister said that development of the nation is not possible without women’s power, their contribution to creation of the state of Uttarakhand is invaluable.
He claimed that work by the double engine government is clearly visible in the form of development in Uttarakhand. The priority of the government is to develop every area of the state. The contribution of women in the development of the state is no less than anyone. The r country is moving beyond women development and talking about women leadership.
He said that the work being done across the country in the field of women empowerment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi presents a wonderful picture of the new India. Today, in every village, women are being connected with basic facilities like house, toilet, gas, electricity, water. The government is also working with full sensitivity on their education, health, nutrition, vaccination and other essential needs.
The Chief Minister said that, today, there are about 70 lakh self-help groups in the country, with which about 8 crore sisters are associated. Even in Uttarakhand, women self-help groups have done unprecedented work in every field, a living example of which was the exhibition of products displayed by them in today’s programme.
Along with giving 30 percent reservation to women in government jobs, the Chief Minister Women Empowerment Scheme, Chief Minister Mahalakshmi Scheme, Lakhpati Didi Scheme, Chief Minister Aanchal Amrit Yojana, Chief Minister Self-Employment Scheme, Chief Minister Minority Meritorious Scheme, Nanda Schemes like Gaura Matrivandana Yojana and Mahila Poshan Abhiyaan have been started.
Addressing the event, Minister in-charge of the district, Premchandra Aggarwal said that many development schemes are being run by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami. To make women self-help groups self-reliant, interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh are being given. Work is also being done to promote Devbhoomi as a wedding destination.
Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal congratulated and wished everyone at the “Beti-Bwaryun Ku Kauthig”. He said that the state government is running many schemes to make women self-reliant.
On this occasion, MLA, Tehri, Kishore Upadhyay, MLA, Dhanaulti, Pritam Singh, MLA, Ghansali, Shaktilal Shah, Devprayag MLA Vinod Kandari, District Panchayat President Sona Sajwan, Vice President, Twenty Point Programme Implementation Committee, Jyoti Prasad Gairola, State General Secretary, BJP, Aditya Kothari, Commissioner, Garhwal, Vinay Shankar Pandey, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, CDO Manish Kumar, public representative Vinod Suyal, District President, BJP, Rajesh Nautiyal and a large number of local people were also present.
