Rishikesh, 29 Nov: Keeping the spirit of adventure alive, soldiers of the Indian Army concluded the ‘Cockerel Gunners White Water Rafting Expedition’, here, today.
The expedition commenced on 26 November and a team comprising 20 adventure enthusiasts of a Medium Regiment were flagged off at Rudraprayag.
After successfully travelling 150 kilometres down River Ganga over four days, the team was flagged in at Rishikesh. As part of its challenging journey, the team successfully negotiated numerous grade III and IV rapids across a stretch which is popular amongst white water adventure sport enthusiasts across the world.
The event had special significance as the foundation of the Medium Regiment was laid in the same station 44 years ago and, hence, the success of the team brought back nostalgic memories.
