Dehradun, 26 Mar: BJP State Mahila Morcha President Asha Nautiyal has accused the Congress party of not having genuine respect for women. Referring to the recent incident of some Congress leaders including the national spokesperson of Congress, Supriya Shrinate ‘abusing’ BJP candidate from Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, Nautiyal claimed that, with this attempt at character assassination, the Congress party has thoroughly exposed itself and its duplicity regarding women’s dignity. The social media comments by some senior Congress leaders on Kangana Ranaut prove that Congress Party only pretends to respect the dignity of women but has no real respect for them.
Nautiyal also pointed out that Congress has failed to declare a single woman candidate out of 5 in Uttarakhand. Even in the past, the Congress party had not declared any woman candidate from here in the parliamentary elections. She added that the Congress had not put up any woman as its candidate in the state in the 2014 and also in 2019 elections.
She claimed that, before the elections, the Congress party had made many empty claims and had spoken about women’s respect, but by the time the elections came, the face of the Congress was exposed. Nautiyal stated that BJP, on the other hand, has been giving a ticket to one woman out of 5 seats in the state on a consistent basis. BJP remains ahead in respecting women, she asserted.
Nautiyal further said that the support and mass base of the Congress party are falling consistently in one election after the other as the people have realised that it only makes hollow promises.
Nautiyal stated that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously moving forward regarding women empowerment. In Uttarakhand, the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led Government has also taken many historic decisions regarding women empowerment and the positive impact on the women of such projects and schemes is very evident. Therefore, the BJP would comfortably win all the five Lok Sabha seats in the state.
