Dehradun, 29 Apr: On 27 April, a cultural festival was held in Convent of Jesus & Mary School, here. Thirteen schools like Welham Girls’, Unison World, St Joseph’s Academy, St Jude’s School, etc., participated, showcasing their creativity through various competitions such as Rangoli, Best out of Waste, Master Chef, Flower Arrangements and Couple dance. Many innovative themes like the divine love of Radha-Krishna, the Burden of Ego came out in the Rangoli. Useful artifacts were created on the spot from the waste material provided.
Interesting creations like ‘Spaghetti Best Pie’, ‘Rani Kabab’ and ‘Woon Maunuang’ were ‘Cuisine for Festivals’. Participants had to present ‘salsa, rock ‘n’ roll, in the ‘couple dance competition’. All the judges were known personalities in their respective fields of specialisation. The concept of execution of the event was highly appreciated by all the competing schools and the judges as well.
At the end of the event, the much deserving prize winners were awarded by the Principal, Sr Greta.
The winners of the competition were: Couple Dance -Convent of Jesus and Mary; Flower Arrangement – Sri Ram Centennial School; Best out of Waste – Convent of Jesus and Mary; Rangoli – Convent of Jesus and Mary; Master Chef – Unison World School.
