Dehradun, 2 Sep: The government today has issued orders banning entry of media persons and all outsiders in the Uttarakhand Secretariat in view of the Corona pandemic. Orders to this effect were issued today under the signatures of Secretary (In-charge) Bhupal Manral.
As per the orders issued, media persons would be allowed entry only for two hours between 3 and 5 p.m. to gather news, but their access for the time being has been restricted to only the Media Centre of the Secretariat. Here, too, they would be permitted to enter only after thermal screening and sanitisation process.
All other outsiders, except the MPs, Union Ministers, Ministers of the state and MLAs, would not be permitted to enter the Secretariat till further orders. Any one from the public wishing to submit an application or request would have to submit the same at the Entry Pass window only.
In addition, it was also decided to subject every staff member working in the Secretariat to a Rapid Antigen test and only those turning out to be Corona negative would be permitted to report for duty.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has, yet again, gone into three days of home isolation following the report that his OSD, Abhay Singh Rawat, tested Corona positive. This also led to postponement of the Cabinet meeting that was due today. This is the second time that a cabinet meeting has been postponed due to the Corona virus.
