HRDEF Winter Science Camp begins

DEHRADUN, 1 Jan: On the occasion of the New Year, HaritaDhara Research Development and Education Foundation (HRDEF) organised a Celebration, a Sustainable Development Goals Oath Ceremony, and inauguration of a 10 day free winter science camp. The event was inaugurated by Anant Bhaskar Garg, Director, HRDEF. Everyone present took an oath to save water, energy, paper and go for clean waste management using 4Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, and to plant trees for a better environment and sustainable consumption and production.
Dr Manisha and Prayanshi conducted a session on how to reuse newspaper for designing and creating various boxes, and useful science games. Children presented various activities such as skits, poems, dance, and conveyed a message related to environment conservation. They also made cards from waste materials. Students enjoyed the science games and puzzles during the event.
Director Anant Bhaskar was invited to present the organisation’s research on Game based Learning during the UNESCO MGIEP TECH 2018 Global Education conference. He was also selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) 2018. This would be helpful in providing 21st Century ways of training and learning to teachers and students.
HRDEF had celebrated its 9th Harita Week from 23 to 29 November, conducted sessions on SDGs, STEAM, and maker approach. The programme was coordinated by Dr Manisha and GyanDhara’s students’ active involvement made this event memorable for everyone. Those who organised the event included Krishna Kumar, Sushma, Prayanshi, Kajal, Shivani, Ankit, Aryan, Rohit, Saloni, Mansi and Sonu.
