Dehradun, 18 Jul: The Kashipur Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Anuradha Garg, has been dismissed from service. This is the first case of its kind in the state. There were serious charges of corruption against her. She is a member of the 2005 batch of judicial officers. She had been under suspension from 2015 onwards.
Her dismissal has come four years after the case first came to light. The charges against her have been found true in a confidential investigation.
The full bench of the Uttarakhand High Court had sent its endorsement of the action against her to the State Government. Following this, the Department of Personnel issued the dismissal order after obtaining the Governor’s acceptance. A government order has been issued in this regard.
When the allegations were first made, the HC Chief Justice had ordered a preliminary inquiry. She had been suspended at the order of the then HC Registrar General DP Gairola. The HC Registrar, Judicial, Narendra Dutt had been designated the Inquiry Officer. The report was presented before the Chief Justice on 24 March, 2015, which was followed by the suspension.
