Innovation is key differentiator in business today: Dr S Farooq

Dehradun, 20 Sep: In its endeavour to help Young Entrepreneurs scale up and become competitive at the national and global level, Young Indians (Yi) Dehradun Chapter, under its Entrepreneurship & Innovation vertical, organised an Entrepreneurs’ Meet with Dr S Farooq, Past Chairman, CII Uttarakhand State Council, and President, Himalaya Wellness Company, Dehradun.
During the session, which was organized as part of India@75 celebrations, Dr Farooq shared the growth story of Himalaya Drug Company, which started with an investment of only Rs 100 and turned into the Rs 5000 Cr Himalaya Wellness Company, making it the one of the biggest companies dealing in wellness products. He apprised members to be humble and generous in their approach while they operate their businesses and urged them to conduct business operations in an ethical manner. Dr Farooq urged the participants to innovate, adapt and inspire in order to succeed in the current dynamic business environment.
Rahul Singhal, Chair, Yi Dehradun Chapter, revealed that Yi has been proactively working for the development of Entrepreneurial and Startup ecosystem in the state. He shared that Young Indians, through its executive committee and various verticals, namely Accessibility (for equal opportunity and rights of differently abled), Climate Change, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Gift an Organ, Road Safety, Rural Initiatives, Masoom & Thalir (for school students) and Yuva (for college students) organise and undertake various sessions and activities for members’ development and engagements. He added that such focused interactions are a great source of learning and development.
Harshit Gupta, Co-Chair, Yi Dehradun Chapter, appreciated that such a focused interactive session gives leadership vision to Young Entrepreneurs, where they can discuss, debate and seek guidance of the senior industry veterans in their respective areas of work.
The session was attended by more than 40 Young Indian Members, which was followed by Speed Networking in which members introduced themselves in 30 seconds to one another. Yi under its pillar of Thought Leadership aims to organise more such sessions for members and non-members in the coming months.
