MUMBAI, 2 Mar: The Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, in his capacity as Chancellor of Universities, presided over the 26th Convocation of the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) over a digital platform, here, today.
State Minister of Urban Development and Public Works Undertaking Eknath Shinde, who was a student of YCMOU, was conferred a degree at the Convocation.
In his convocation address, the Governor applauded the graduates of the Open and Distance Learning University, saying that by pursuing higher education while still earning their livelihood as workers, farm labourers or entrepreneurs, they were making a contribution to Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
Vice Chancellor of the University Dr E Vayunandan presented the report at the Convocation.
Gold medals were awarded to 25 students and 81 prizes were given away at the Convocation. Degrees, Post Graduate Degrees, Diplomas, M Phil and PhDs were awarded to 2,93,852 candidates for two years – 2019 and 2020.
