Line Producers’ ineptitude forces filmmakers to wrap up shoot

Dehradun, 28 Jul: The shooting team of ‘Ullu App’ was forced to discontinue its Uttarakhand schedule due to the alleged unprofessional behaviour of its Line Producers Mayank Tiwari, Atul Painuly and others. In her complaint registered at the offices of the DGP and SSP by Puja Bhatt, Marketing Head, Ullu Digital Pvt Ltd: “From day one, Mayank and his team changed so many things regarding locations at the last moment. Locations were shuffled so my shoot was delayed and eventually cancelled.” She underlined further that they forcibly locked the team’s cameras in the car, misbehaved with her and her female colleague. “All this caused great financial loss to us as these locations were pre-booked.” It may be recalled that this team was shooting its web series, tentatively titled ‘Peshawar’ at various locations in Mussoorie and Doon. The star cast includes Aadarsh Balakrishna, Rakshanda Khan, Ashmit Patel, Rushad Rana and others. “It’s morally criminal on the part of any line producer to cause disruption if he can’t deliver. This earns a bad name for the state,” stated Satish Sharma, senior journalist and actor, who is promoting Uttarakhand amongst the filmmakers for years now. “This crew had over 270 members, which is huge. Imagine packing up after incurring enormous expenditure and without completing one’s work. This is unpardonable and very damaging for the state’s reputation. Falling short of deliverables can be disastrous for any producer.” The team will now complete its remaining schedule in Mumbai.
