On 4 June, Commandant Brigadier Mohan Singh Bisht flagged off a cycle rally and run for fun, in which a large number of officers, jawans and their families participated enthusiastically. On the way they collected plastic and other waste and gave the message of importance of environment to the residents of the city. Taking a new initiative, Sainik Hospital Dehradun gifted a cloth bag to every person coming to the hospital, motivating them to cooperate in stopping the use of polythene.

The main event on 5 June involved tree plantation organised under the leadership of Commandant Brigadier Bisht. Thirty-five fruit tree saplings were planted.

Following that the jawans and families of entire Garhi Cantt participated in a lecture cum exhibition held in the auditorium of the Sainik Hospital.  Highlighting the importance of the environment and individual and collective contribution in this initiative, the Commandant exhorted everyone to work hard to realise the dream of a clean and beautiful India.
