Dehradun, 27 Dec: In a media interaction held at the BJP State Headquarters here, today, BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt asserted that Uttarakhand residents are fortunate to get the first opportunity to visit the Ram Janmabhoomi temple after the consecration. During the interaction, he also claimed that the grand and divine temple of Ram Lala is the result of the sentiments and sacrifices of Sanatanis. He claimed that many opportunists were trying to not only claim credit for the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple but were also attempting to discredit the BJP Government on this issue. Bhatt called upon the opportunist Hindus as well as the Opposition parties to come forward and join the ongoing struggle for Kashi Vishwanath and Krishna Janmasthan temple in Mathura. At the same time, he expressed doubt if these leaders will really have the courage to join this struggle.
Responding to the media persons’ questions regarding the darshan of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Bhatt said that after the Pran Pratishtha, the residents of Uttarakhand are going to get the first opportunity to have the darshan by state-wise devotees. This is a fortunate and proud occasion for every resident of Devbhoomi, he claimed. Taking a dig at the opposition for making statements that it was the decision of the Supreme Court that paved the way for the construction of the temple, he added that the real credit for it goes to the sacrifices of Sanatanis over hundreds of years and the sentiments of 120 crore Hindus. He alleged that the country is witness to the massacre of hundreds of temple kar sewaks by the entire opposition including the Congress. He also reminded that the then Prime Minister, PV Narasimha Rao, had made a public promise to rebuild the so-called Babri Masjid that had been demolished by the Kar Sewaks. Bhatt further reminded that the then Congress Government at the Centre had dismissed all the three BJP Governments as a reaction to the demolition of Babri Masjid. Even later, very senior Congress leaders and Congress leaders who were lawyers also kept arguing the case against the construction of the Temple.
Not only this, the Manmohan Singh led Congress Government had even submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court claiming that Ram was an imaginary character. He added that Congress Government led by Rajeev Gandhi had opened the locks of the temple on the decision of the local court, but thereafter adopted the anti-temple policy and again locked the temple in fear of minority resentment. Bhatt sarcastically said that, if any Congress or opposition leader still wants to take credit, then he or she should come forward to cooperate in the struggle for Kashi Vishwanath and Mathura Krishna Janmabhoomi. But this will not happen because the Congress leaders are apprehensive of losing votes of a particular minority and are pseudo secular and pseudo Hindus. The public is well aware that those who were making fun of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement till yesterday do not have the courage to face the resentment of minority voters even today.
