Dehradun, 10 May: RIMC Cadets have yet again brought laurels for the school and nation as they have again secured the top honours in the All India UPSC NDA Merit List declared by UPSC.
There are a total of 19 boys from RIMC who have made it to the merit list after a very competitive Written Examination conducted by UPSC, the Services Selection Board Interview and the Medical Board.
Out of several lakhs candidates, UPSC has issued a Merit for 450 successful candidates who would be joining the premier Tri-Services National Defence Academy, NDA, in June 2019.
There are 2 boys in the first five. The 2nd and 5th rank have been secured by Cadet Capt Abhimanyu Singh and Cadet Tanmay Malik, respectively.
A total of 9 cadets have figured in first 50 achievers in the All India Merit List. Cadet Abhimanyu is Cadet Captain at RIMC and belongs to Jaipur. His father, Tejpal Singh is a businessman. Cadet Tanmay Malik hails from Delhi and his father is an officer in the Delhi Police.
Rashtriya Indian Military College is the premier boarding school of the country that provides Secondary and Senior Secondary level of education of CBSE and has exclusively been designed for aspirants wishing to join the Defence Forces. It has produced eight Chiefs of Defence Forces, a large number of three star generals, civil servants and Governors of many states of India.
RIMC has been sending nearly 20-25 quality Cadets to NDA every six months. What is worth noting is also the remarkable performance of these boys in NDA, Naval Academy and IMA. It is worth mentioning that these boys have been earning the top laurels at the premier defence training institutes and rising to be the leaders in all spheres.
Col Vivek Sharma, Commandant of RIMC, commented, ‘The boys have done well but we need to surpass the standards set by ourselves only and we are capable of it.’
