DEHRADUN, 30 Nov: Uttarakhand’s golf prodigy, Samriddh Chand Thakur, once again brought glory to the state and Dehradun by clinching the winner’s trophy in his category at one of the biggest golf tournaments played at the ITC Course, Gurugram, from 27 to 29 November.
The tournament was organised by Selaqui International School, Dehradun. More than 82 players from across the country participated in this championship. Amandeep Johl, Indian Golf Team Coach was the mentor of this tournament.
There were 10 players in Category E in the age group of Under 9. Samriddh played a fantastic game by winning the 1st position by a huge margin of 22 shots. Samriddh made a superb eagle in the last hole.
The last week has been very hectic for Samriddh as he played three golf tournaments – GTP at Panchkula Golf Course, Ace at Derabassi, and the Selaqui Inter-School Golf Tournament at ITC, Gurugram. He succeeded in scoring two consecutive wins in these matches.
