DEHRADUN, 1 Jul: The start of the new Rotary Year, 2020-2021, began with service projects for the underprivileged and needy on Annapurna Day. The Rotary Club Dehradun, the oldest in District 3080, under the leadership of President Naghma Farooq and Secretary Patricia Hilton (a historic landmark, being led for the first time by two women in its long and distinguished history of 80 years) along with its Principal Past Rotary International District Governor David Hilton, undertook several service projects in the city.
The Interact Club of Hilton’s School, with its Principal David Hilton and Senior Coordinators Girish Ahuja and Neelam Andrews, together with the young social worker Naomi Nauriyal distributed food packets, masks and sanitisers to children at Gabar Basti near Kath Bangla Bridge, Canal Road.
A meal was also sponsored and 2 boxes of sanitary napkins were handed to the Akhil Bharatya Mahila Ashram, today.
A project to feed stay animals and birds is also planned for later this month.
