Mussoorie, 15 Mar: The Principal of St George’s College said today that the institution is completely safe. The news about a lockdown in the college and Barlowganj area being spread on social media is baseless.
A press conference was held, today, by Principal Brother Joseph in his office. He said that St George’s College is completely safe from corona infection. Some students had tested positive for asymptomatic corona infection and had been isolated in the school hospital. The hospital had been made a micro-containment zone by the administration for security purposes.
The Principal pointed out that, recently, some posts on social media had called for closing down of the college and nearby area of Barlowganj. This he said was completely unnecessary. The district administration had confirmed that all the teachers and students in the college are completely healthy. The children who have tested positive are also completely healthy.
The Principal revealed that, at present, the college has more than 250 students of class X and XII, who are completely well. He also urged the local public and parents not to pay attention to the news being circulated on social media. He asserted that the college is strictly following the rules issued by the government under Covid-19. From time to time, the staff and students present in the college are being tested for Covid. The people of Barlowganj have urged the administration to take action against the people who posted the baseless news without any evidence.
