Dehradun, 23 Apr: SJA Alumni Association and Drishti Eye Institute jointly organised a Free Eye Testing Camp today at the SJA AA Charitable Dispensary, Sanjay Colony, Dalanwala. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the public, with people queuing up even before the team from Drishti Eye Institute arrived.
The event was a great success, with over 80 patients from the age group of 10 to 80 years registering and getting their eyes tested. The comprehensive eye check-up was conducted by the team from Drishti Eye Institute, led by renowned ophthalmologist Dr Amrita. Due to the high demand, the registrations had to be paused temporarily, which showcases the tremendous need for quality eye care services in the area.
The Free Eye Testing Camp received immense support from the local councillor, Nikhil Rajkumar, and his father, ex-MLA Rajkumar, who showed their solidarity towards the cause of providing quality healthcare services to the underprivileged sections of society.
Dr Saurabh Luthra, who runs and manages Drishti Eye Institute, was also present. He supervised the arrangements along with the President of the Association, Praveen Chandhok, and Kamna Bagai, a member of the committee.
Dr Saurabh Luthra offered a 25% discount to the patients advised to visit the hospital for further treatment. Senior Alumnus Rajeev Nangia also visited the camp to convey his blessings and support the noble initiative.
Brigadier Dr Upendera Nath Jhingan, who voluntarily manages the dispensary, expressed his commitment to work for the underprivileged sections of society, who often cannot afford quality medical care. He echoed the sentiments of President Praveen Chandhok, who emphasised the need to continue working towards providing free medical care to those in need.
The organisers plan to organize similar camps in the future to provide free medical care to the underprivileged sections of society, thereby ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare services.
