Spanish Ambassador calls on Koshyari

DEHRADUN, 29 Nov: The newly appointed Ambassador of Spain to India Jose Maria Ridao Dominguez called on Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan Mumbai here today. The Ambassador told the Governor that Spain was keen to enhance business and economic cooperation with India while promoting more cultural, educational and tourism exchanges. The Ambassador said there were 500 million Spanish speakers worldwide and that a large number of Indian youth were also learning Spanish. The Governor told the Ambassador that Maharashtra had many sites of world heritage such as Ajanta and Ellora Caves that might interest Spanish tourists. He called for starting direct air connectivity between Mumbai and Madrid to facilitate tourism and people to people exchanges. The Consul General of Spain in Mumbai Fernando Heredia was also present.
