Dehradun, 13 Oct: SPECS Dehradun and Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) jointly organised a training workshop for special educators at Learning Tree Special School, Ajabpur.
The training workshop was meant to learn methods of making science teaching interesting for the differently abled children. The participants at the training workshop were also provided with “Do It Yourself” kits.
Inaugurating the training workshop, USERC’s senior scientist Dr Om Prakash Nautiyal said efforts need to be undertaken to bring out the hidden talent among different abled children. He also exhorted the participants to take full advantage of the workshop and get the best of their skills.
He said that under directions of USERC Director Prof Anita Rawat, efforts are being undertaken in Uttarakhand to bring differently abled children into the mainstream.
Dr Nautiyal also took the opportunity to inform the gathering about the achievements of USERC in the promotion of science education.
Principal, Learning Tree School, Shivani Kotnala expressed gratitude to USREC and SPECS for staging such a valuable training workshop at the school.
SPECS Secretary Dr Brijmohan Sharma disclosed that USERC and SPECS have been jointly holding such workshops meant to benefit the differently abled students in the region.
Saurabh Kaushal and Raghav Sharma from Smart Secret Innovation were prominent among the trainers at the workshop. Teachers from GK Asha School, Manav Hope, Raphael, Latika School and Learning Tree Special School were prominent participants in the training workshop.
