Dehradun, 12 May: Uttaranchal University organised a School Principals’ Conclave, here, today. The agenda of the event was ‘Innovative Practices in Schools’ – the latest trends in technology in the curriculum, awareness about innovation, start-ups and NEP launching, and Junior Hackathon. Principals of 42 schools participated in the event and appreciated the initiative taken by the University.
The event was inaugurated by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr Anil Prakash Joshi. He emphasised on innovations for sustainable environment and climate change. “We should teach our children to protect the environment and innovate to control pollution and disasters in the hills,” he emphasised.
Chancellor Jitender Joshi congratulated the team, Division of Research and Innovation, for taking the initiative to bridge the gap between schools and universities .Vice President Dr Satbir Sehgal discussed many case studies where school students were involved in start-ups and new innovations. Vice Chancellor Prof Dharam Buddhi shared his views on NEP and the ways to collaborate with schools.
Director (Research & Innovation) Dr Rajesh Singh discussed various AI and AR/VR tools and different initiatives by Government of India. He mentioned that this year’s theme of Technology Day was ‘school to start-up’ and declared students should be for the same.
The programme was conducted by Dr Anita Gehlot and Deans, HoDs, Faculty Members and students were present.
