Uttaranchal Varsity holds Vishwakarma Puja



DEHRADUN, 17 Sep: Department of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering of UIT and University Polytechnic celebrated Vishwakarma Puja, today, with full zeal and enthusiasm. Vishwakarma Day is celebrated to worship Vishwakarma, the divine engineer of the Puranic age. As a mark of reverence, he is worshipped not only by the engineering and architectural communities, but also by all professionals. Artisans, craftsmen, mechanics, smiths, welders, industrial workers, factory workers, and workers of all kinds worship Vishwakarma on this day and pray for a better future, safe working conditions, and above all success in their respective fields. The Puja was attended by Chancellor Jitender Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) NK Joshi, Head, Mechanical Engineering, Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, Principal, University Polytech, Faculty members, Technical Staff and students of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Polytechnic Departments. The Puja was performed by the Chancellor and Vice- Chancellor in the Department’s Workshop followed by Aarti and chanting of mantras. After performing the formal Puja, the machines of the workshop, tools and labs were worshipped. The Chancellor and Vice Chancellor congratulated the Department for keeping culture alive.
