Dehradun, 16 Oct: The team of ‘Valley of Words’ LitFest conducted an outreach programme for the students of Graphic Era Hill University, here, today.
Shivani, coordinator of the event, along with her team of volunteers, Hardik, Ayushi and Sanjana, interacted with the students present and informed them about the various enthralling sessions that would take place during the three day festival.
The students were briefed on how they should, in large numbers, avail themselves of this three day opportunity to meet their favourite authors, politicians and other dignitaries. They were also informed about the various photography and poetry competitions that are to take place.
The programme was divided into various interesting segments, one such being ‘Translations’, in which the students had to translate the line – ‘Valley of Words is a literature and arts festival that will be held in the November of 2019’ – in any language that they had knowledge of. This segment especially witnessed mass audience participation.
Many important and crucial topics were discussed during the interactive session. One such topic raised was how Mussoorie had become a lot more polluted than it was a few years ago and if rapid and irresponsible development had a major role to play. The students raised their concern regarding the same which stimulated an engrossing conversation.
The programme came to an end with Rashmi Chopra proposing the vote of thanks. The students of Graphic Era, showed great zeal and enthusiasm and said they were eagerly looking forward to the Valley of Words Literature Festival that is to take place at Madhuban Hotel in Dehradun from 15 to 17 November.
