VoW MHS session to discuss ‘Securing India @ 75’

In addition to book launches and sessions on Grit, Glamour and Valour, at the Grand Finale at Dehradun on 12-13 November, the MHS vertical of Valley of Words in collaboration with the United Services Institute,  will also host a day-long seminar ‘Securing India @ 75’ on the 4th of November at the Imperial Hotel, New Delhi.
Governor of Tamil Nadu  Thiru RN Ravi, has kindly consented to deliver the Inaugural Address on November 4 which will then be followed by a marathon of sessions conducted across the salience of geography.  Celebrating India’s 75 years of Independence and beyond, the tailored sessions will look at how the future is likely to unfold in the Amritkaal i.e. next 25 years of India’s journey as part of the global community in a highly volatile, competitive, vulnerable and unpredictable environment. The Sessions would deal with macro issues on how to strengthen the Comprehensive National Power to secure India, which goes beyond the responsibility of the military.
 National Security is a complex subject and needs to be understood in a larger context. The sessions shall gradually unfold the layers that provide strength to the core of the nation which is made of different strands. It will cover aspects such as geopolitics, economy, technology, industrial capabilities, as well as global perspective and support. Curated discussions on topics such as: External Threats & Future Security Dynamics; Strategizing Defense in a Democratic Polity; India as a global startup and investment destination. The session on the ‘Economy as the powerhouse of the Nation’ would also add to the flavor of global investors’ aspirations. The ultimate gravitas of technology will be brought to the forum by experts in the field. Unless India becomes a manufacturing hub of the world, the economy would stand on weak and uncertain fundamentals driven by mainly the service sector and agriculture.
The event is likely to be attended by senior bureaucrats, technocrats, parliamentarians, military officers, scientific community, business and industrial personalities, scholars from Indian School of Public Policy and supported by the media in ensuring that India’s perception of how we are shaping up for the next 25 years. “ The honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Thiru RN Ravi, has agreed to be the Chief Guest, and he will also deliver the Inaugural Address. We will have many luminaries participating in the discussion for each strand that will contribute to the development, national growth and build nations Comprehensive national Power,” said Lt Gen. PJS Pannu, Board of Governor Valley of Words as well as Curator of the Military vertical.
Talking about the upcoming event, Festival Director Dr. Sanjeev Chopra stated, “Since its inception six years ago, the MHS vertical has been an integral part of VoW, recognizing the tradition of valour that IMA represents while also facilitating the interaction of young women and men who aspire to join the Defence forces with real-life heroes!”
He further added, “MHS is also a platform for the launch of new books on military history and strategy, as well as a forum for discussion and deliberation on issues affecting India’s security environment in a dynamic world where technology and AI are becoming increasingly important!”
The one-day event will witness keynote sessions stitched around ‘Securing India @ 75’ with ace speakers from academia, media, diplomacy, defence forces, war veterans and the like. The session will be live-streamed on all Valley of Words social media handles.
