Dehradun, 27 Nov: In keeping with its tradition of yesteryears and undaunted by the reigning circumstances, Welham Girls’ School will celebrate its 63rd Founders’ Day virtually on 28 November.
Unlike the previous years, the celebrations will be conducted on a single day. The celebrations will include the Exhibitions, a Cultural Programme, Speeches and Distribution of Awards. The Chief Guest for the Founders’ Day will be the global business leader and ex-President of the Board of Governors, Welham Girls’ School, Vinita Bali.
The Founders’ Day celebrations will begin at with the virtual inauguration of Exhibitions at 9:30 a.m. The exhibitions include ‘Flavours of India, which illustrate this year’s theme for the Founders’: ‘Oneness’. Clearly demonstrating that diversity does not pull people apart, but brings them closer together, the Exhibitions throw light upon the culture, traditions, cuisine, handicrafts, festivals, languages and much more of certain Indian states, including Uttarakhand, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The exhibition on Life and Times during Covid reveals the students’ innovative perspective on the current situation and their advice on overcoming this challenge.
The main Founders’ Day programme will be held in the evening with Speeches and Prize Distribution. This will be followed by the cultural programme, ‘Samashti’, which is an amalgamation of a Nukkad Natak, and various forms of dance and music, noticeably validating this year’s theme of oneness and conveying a powerful message to accept diversity and co-exist in harmony without discord.
