Dehradun, 13 Dec: Under the Faculty Interaction Programme at Graphic Era Deemed University, Rav Singh of Olds College, Alberta, Canada, delivered a lecture on ‘Advanced Technology Integration in Academics’, here, today. Rav Singh said that by applying and understanding technology like Computer Science, IOT, Robotic Science, Mechanical engineering in the study of Agricultural Science, students can increase their knowledge and practical understanding of the subject.
Explaining one of his educational projects, he said that, during the lockdown, with the help of video from the latest device made with the help of cameras, sensors and computer software, students of Agricultural Science studied various factors affecting plants.
Drawing attention to the prevalence of drones, robots and automatic machines in agriculture, he said that no modern production industry is untouched by engineering and technology. There is need to incorporate science and new technology into the teaching curriculum as per the demands of industry.
Welcoming Rav Singh, Professor (Dr) RC Joshi, Chancellor, Graphic Era Deemed University, said that, in present times, technology and techniques are needed in every field of Education. So, it is the need of the hour to incorporate these progressive changes in the curriculum.
Professor (Dr) Sanjay Jasola, Director General, Graphic Era Deemed University, Professor (Dr) HN Nagaraja, Vice Chancellor, along with faculty from Graphic Era Deemed University and Graphic Era Hill University were present at the event.
