Dehradun, 24 Feb: Once again, Lokjeet Singh has brought pride to the state by receiving the prestigious SKOCH Award at the national level for outstanding management of the Char Dham Yatra.
Learning lessons from the challenges faced during the 2024 Yatra, the Police Headquarters decided to establish a dedicated Control Room under the IG Range. Lokjeet Singh was appointed as in-charge of this Control Room. In a short span of time, he set up the Control Room and, along with his team, initiated extensive preparations on a large scale.
For the government, administration, and police department, ensuring the smooth and systematic conduct of the 2025 Yatra was a major challenge. With a systematic and well-planned approach, the Control Room accomplished several new initiatives. Various challenges that arose during the Yatra were handled dynamically and efficiently.
Key responsibilities managed under Lokjeet Singh’s leadership included:
Coordination of rescue operations during the Dharali disaster; addressing security challenges during the Pahalgam terror attack;
supervising rescue efforts in helicopter crash incidents.
Lokjeet Singh handled all these critical situations with remarkable efficiency and leadership.
The award will be formally presented to him on 28 March 2026 at the 106th SKOCH Summit to be held at India Habitat Centre.
Earlier as well, Lokjeet Singh has been honoured with the prestigious FICCI Smart Policing Award in 2021 for his outstanding COVID-19 management efforts. Additionally, in 2024, he was awarded the Governor’s Distinguished Service Medal for his exemplary management of the Char Dham Yatra.
Through his dedication, leadership, and administrative excellence, Lokjeet Singh continues to set high standards in public service and crisis management.
