Doon Administration prepares for proposed visit by PM Modi

DEHRADUN, 28 Mar: District Magistrate Savin Bansal on Saturday convened a high-level review meeting with departmental heads to oversee extensive preparations in light of the potential participation of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the proposed inauguration of the Delhi-Dehradun Express Highway and his visit to the district. During the session, the DM reviewed the readiness of various sectors and issued necessary guidelines to senior officials of the linear departments.
During the meeting, he specifically directed officials from the National Highways (NH), NHAI, and the Public Works Department to immediately inspect the potential travel routes and ensure that essential beautification, divider repairs, road improvements, and other related tasks are completed within the stipulated timeframe. Furthermore, UPCL officials were instructed to promptly remove cables lying along the roadsides under the underground cabling project on the expected route to ensure that there are no obstructions to traffic and that the passage remains well-organised and safe.
Regarding the arrangements at the programme venue, Bansal gave clear instructions to the concerned officials to ensure the timely and orderly completion of stage construction, security protocols, parking facilities, proper seating arrangements, mobile toilets, and other basic amenities. The Municipal Corporation was tasked with maintaining special cleanliness standards at the venue and along the potential route. In view of the proposed visit, the DM clarified that all previously granted permissions for ongoing construction work on the potential route within the district have been cancelled with immediate effect until the conclusion of the programme to prevent any hindrance.
He further emphasised that all departments must work in close coordination to discharge their assigned responsibilities, warning that any negligence in the preparations would not be tolerated. Among those present at the meeting saw the attendance of Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal, Chief Development Officer (CDO) Abhinav Shah, Additional Municipal Commissioner Praveen Kumar, ADM KK Mishra, SP City Pramod Kumar, Joint Magistrate Rahul Kumar, City Magistrate Pratyush Singh, and SDMs Harigiri, Apurva Singh, and Kumkum Joshi, alongside other departmental representatives.
