Dehradun, 1 Apr: Chief Secretary (CS) Anand Bardhan today held a review of the State Pragati Portal at the Secretariat. During the meeting, he emphasised that all the significant State and Centrally sponsored schemes being implemented by various departments would henceforth be monitored through the portal. He directed all the departments to upload details of their major schemes on the platform at the earliest to facilitate comprehensive oversight.

During the review, the CS also instructed the Planning Department to design the portal in a manner that enables both department-wise and scheme-wise assessment of progress. He also stressed on the need for departments to define clear milestones at various stages of their projects so that slow-moving works can be identified and monitored effectively. He added that such an approach would help ensure timely completion of schemes.

Bardhan further emphasised that all the self-employment schemes being run by different departments should be incorporated into the portal. He called for an analysis of the employment generated through these initiatives so far and directed the Planning Department to prepare a detailed report covering the past three to five years. He observed that such an exercise would aid in reviewing the effectiveness of schemes and in identifying and addressing existing gaps.

The CS also conducted a trial run of the State Pragati Portal and reviewed the progress of schemes across various departments. While assessing the Health Department, he sought updated information on the construction of hospitals, sub-district hospitals and medical colleges in various districts of the state. He directed that, alongside infrastructure development, adequate focus should be placed on manpower availability and upgradation of medical equipment, with an emphasis on preparing a holistic plan. He further stressed that basement parking should be made an essential component of hospital building projects.

Among those present on the occasion were Principal Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretaries Sachin Kurve and BVRC Purushottam and Additional Secretary Jharna Kamthan and other senior officials.
