Dehradun, 2 Apr: Hanuman Janmotsav was celebrated with great devotion and traditional rituals at the Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Yog Mandir, Tapkeshwar. The celebration began with the ceremonial bathing of Lord Hanuman using holy Ganga water, followed by offering a vermilion chola, new clothes, ornaments, and silver foil adornment.
A grand floral abhishek was performed on the 365 quintal south-facing idol of Lord Hanuman, using 125 kilograms of flowers. Pandit Kamal Joshi and his group conducted a collective, musical recitation of the Sundarkand, creating a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
On this occasion, Yogacharya Dr Bipin Joshi described Lord Hanuman as the ultimate role model of selfless service. He remarked that, in the present, when people often prioritise personal gain even in small tasks, the relevance of Lord Hanuman’s ideals has increased significantly.
The event also featured devotional bhajans, a sacred yajna, and distribution of prasad. The temple was beautifully decorated, and a special aarti was performed with elaborate adornments. Special puja and prasad distribution continued throughout the day.
Prominent contributors to the event included Yogacharya Dr Bipin Joshi, Dr. Mathura Dutt Joshi, Ram Sevak Sharma, Bhagwati Joshi, Geeta Joshi, Advocate Tanuj Joshi, Pandit Hitesh Pant, Vaibhav Joshi, Pandit Ganesh Bijalwan, Rishipal, Harshpati Rayal, Rahul, Mohit, Raghav Sharma, and others, whose support ensured the success of the celebration.
