KOLKATTA, 9 May: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday attended the historic swearing-in ceremony of West Bengal’s first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, where Suvendu Adhikari was sworn in as Chief Minister along with members of his council of ministers. The event, held in Kolkata, was marked by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, several Union ministers and Chief Ministers from across the country, reflecting the significance of the occasion for the party at the national level.

Dhami described the formation of the BJP’s maiden government in West Bengal as a landmark achievement and a new political chapter for the state. After the ceremony, he posted on social media that he was honoured to be part of the swearing-in in the dignified presence of the PM and the Home Minister. He also extended warm congratulations to Suvendu Adhikari and his cabinet colleagues, expressing confidence that their leadership and vision would take West Bengal to new heights of progress, good governance and development. He added that the benefits of the Centre’s welfare schemes would reach every eligible citizen, giving fresh momentum to the state’s overall growth.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Dhami also met Bihar’s new Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and other leaders from different states as well as some Union Ministers. His presence at the event is being seen as a gesture of solidarity and a reaffirmation of the BJP’s collective strength across the country.
