Dehradun, 12 May: A poetic tribute programme was jointly organised by Navodit Pravah and Himalaya Virasat Trust on 11 May at the Rachna Sansar Auditorium, Pritam Road, here, on the occasion of the birth anniversary of renowned poet Dr Girija Shankar Trivedi.
The Chief Guest was Dr Devendra Bhasin, Vice-Chairman of the Uttarakhand State Higher Education Advancement Committee and former Principal, DAV PG College, Dehradun, while the programme was presided over by the country’s well known senior poet Dr Buddhinath Mishra. Dr Kamla Pant was the Guest of Honour. The programme was conducted by Dr. Bharti Mishra.
On this occasion, noted writers and singers presented fourteen popular songs written by Dr Girija Shankar Trivedi in their own distinctive styles. Details of the songs and performers are as follows: Dr Sonia Anand presented the song, Jyoti Rath Badhta Chale, Yeh Jyotirath Badhta Chale. Lily Bhatt Dhaundiyal presented the song: “Kavita Apne Par Hoti Hai, Apnepan Ka Kuch Ant Nahin,
Apna Patjhar Bhi Hota Hai, Apna Hai Sirf Basant Nahin.” Dr Kshama Kaushik presented the song: “Shikharon Ko Choomti
Ghatiyon Mein Jhoomti,
Bikhri Hai Chandni.”
Ajay Joshi presented the song: “Par Doli Jab Jab Purvai Neeravta Doobi Krandan Mein.
Aisi Aayi Yaad Tumhari, Bhar Bhar Aaya Neer Nayan Mein.” Arun Bhatt presented the song:
“Tum Sirf Utha Lo Saaj Aaj, Main Man Ka Geet Suna Doonga.” Mani Agrawal ‘Manika ’ presented the song: “Buni Hai Jeevan Ki Jo Kahani, Na Main Bhulaoon Na Tum Bhulana.”
Kulbir Channi* presented the song: “Jitna Sukh Hai Madhur Milan Mein, Utna Zyada Dukh Bichhudan Mein.”
Ingita Pujari presented the song: “Saanjh Hai Bahar Ki, Subah Jahan Khumaar Ki, Main Aa Gaya Hoon Us Dagar, Main Aa Gaya Hoon Us Nagar.” Anju Pandey presented the song:
“Ri Albeli, Suun Chameli, Bhar De Doodh Katora, Kaaga Chhat Pai Machaaye Shor, Koi Ghar Aane Wala Hai.”
Shraddha Mishra* presented the song: “Poorab Ke Madhuvan Ki

Pairon Mein Kalarav Ke Payal Chhum Chhum Chhanan.”
Urmila Sharma* presented the song: “Ek Geet Pyaar Ka Aao Gunguna toh Le. Kab Talak Hanse Bahaar, Kab Talak Phale Fasal.” Kavita Bisht ‘Neh’* presented the song:
“Rang Behka Le Nayan Bhale Hi Pal Do Pal Tak; Kintu Gandh Ke Bina Nahin Ram Sakta Hai Mann!” Dr Lakshmi Bhatt* presented the environmental song: “Dharti Tan Hai, Pavan Praan Hai, Paani Hai Jeevan; Paavankari Paavak Halchal, Rakshak Neel Gagan.”
Dr Bharti Mishra* also presented the song:
“Chaand Taaron Saji Asmaan Ki Gali,
Mod Apna Badalti Rahi Raat Bhar.”
Chief Guest Dr Bhasin shared memories associated with Dr Trivedi and highlighted his multi-dimensional personality. Presiding dignitary Dr Buddhinath Mishra spoke about Dr Trivedi’s contribution as a lyricist and paid him a heartfelt tribute through his own song. Dr Kamla Pant also mentioned his environmental songs.
The vote of thanks was proposed by journalist Bhupat Singh Bisht.
On this occasion, Dr VD Sharma, Dr Harishchandra Gupta, Dr Lalima Verma, Dr Bechain Kandiyal, Shivmohan Singh, Dr Vidya Singh, Kalpana Bahuguna, Manju Kala, Chandan Singh Negi, Satyanand Badoni, Jagdish Babla, Uday Singh Rana, Manju Srivastav, Dr Poonam Sharma, Sunil Trivedi, Rashmi Alok, and Editor, Navodit Pravah Rajneesh Trivedi, were among those present.
