Dehradun, 17 May: Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi today flagged off the “Environment Resolve Cycle Rally” organised by the late Harbans Kapoor Memorial Trust at Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC Ground, here. It was held in the memory of the late Harbans Kapoor, long time MLA.

A large number of youths, students, and citizens enthusiastically participated in the event. The rally commenced from the KV ONGC Barrier, went along Kaulagarh Road, and concluded at Hotel Saffron Leaf.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Joshi said that environmental conservation is the greatest need of the present time and that cycling is not only beneficial for health but also an important step toward protecting the environment. He stated that such events help raise environmental awareness in society while also motivating young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. He added that this initiative is a significant contribution toward advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of fuel conservation and environmental protection.

Paying tribute to Harbans Kapoor, Minister Joshi said that Kapoor was not only his political mentor but also his guide and source of inspiration. He remarked that the contributions of parents and teachers are so profound that they can never truly be repaid. He further said, “Whatever I am today is because of Kapoor Sahib. I learned the values of politics and the spirit of public service from him. His simple living and high thinking continue to inspire all of us.”

Encouraging the participants, Joshi urged everyone to take a pledge for environmental conservation. He said it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to provide a clean and safe environment for future generations.
