U’khand’s brave son Lt Goswami makes supreme sacrifice in Kashmir encounter

Dehradun, 7 Jun: Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami, son of Pramod Nath Goswami of Tehsil Colony, Ranikhet in Almora, laid down his life during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir. An alumnus of Graphic Era (Deemed University), Dehradun, he had completed his BA (Hons) in English between 2019 and 2022.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army, in its official message has stated that GOC White Knight Corps and all ranks mourn the untimely demise of Lieutenant Beereshwar Goswami, who made the supreme sacrifice while undertaking operational duties in an area marked by rugged terrain, steep cliffs and adverse weather conditions.
Sainik Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi has also expressed deep condolences on the supreme sacrifice of Lt Goswami, adding that the country will always remember his valour and devotion to duty.
Graphic Era University has also mourned the loss of its alumnus. President of the University, Prof Dr Kamal Ghanshala, said the institution is proud to have produced such a brave son of the soil for whom service to the nation was the foremost priority. He prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. The University, in its tribute, described Goswami as embodying courage, integrity, resilience and commitment to duty, and affirmed that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. The tribute also adds, “Salute to a true hero – our alumnus, a soldier, an inspiration,” further asserting that that his supreme sacrifice will remain a guiding light for young minds.
