Dehradun, 9 Jun: The ‘Abbas Tyabji Educational and Charitable Trust’ today observed the 90th Death Anniversary of Justice Abbas Tyabji, who passed away on 9 June 1936 at Eastwood Estate, Mussoorie.
Dr S Farooq, National Vice President of the Abbas Tyabji Trust, welcomed the guests and other dignitaries who were present. He said the Trust was registered due to the efforts of former MP Paripurnanand Painuli. He said, “We should always remember our leaders specially the freedom fighters and also our parents, due to whom we are living in a free country. We should do whatever we can for the welfare of citizens.” He also mentioned Justice Abbas Tayyab’s refusal to award death punishment to Bhagat Singh, which was later awarded by Justice Shadi Lal of Muzaffarnagar.
Khwaja Tanveer Z Ali, (retired IAS) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He reminded the audience that it is important to always remember such great persons who devoted their life for independence.
