Dehradun, 10 Jun: In a move to further strengthen the effective and smooth functioning of District Cooperative Banks, the Uttarakhand Government has withdrawn the responsibility of bank administration from Chief Development Officers in 10 districts and assigned it to senior officers of the Cooperation Department. Orders in this regard were issued by the government late Tuesday night.
According to the government, Chief Development Officers are entrusted with extensive responsibilities related to various development schemes and administrative functions. To ensure greater focus, expertise, and dedicated attention to the functioning of District Cooperative Banks, departmental officers have now been appointed as administrators. This decision is expected to accelerate banking operations and make the decision-making process more efficient and effective.
As per the orders issued, Additional Registrar Ira Upreti has been appointed Administrator of the Dehradun District Cooperative Bank, while Additional Registrar Anand Shukla has been assigned the responsibility of the Haridwar District Cooperative Bank.
Similarly, Deputy Registrar (Garhwal Division) Surendra Pal has been appointed Administrator of the Kotdwar District Cooperative Bank, Deputy Registrar Monica Chunera of the Chamoli District Cooperative Bank, and Joint Registrar MP Tripathi of the Udham Singh Nagar District Cooperative Bank.
Joint Registrar Ramindri Mandrawal has been entrusted with the responsibility of Administrator for, both, the Uttarkashi and Tehri District Cooperative Banks. Deputy Registrar (Kumaon Division) Rajesh Chauhan has been appointed Administrator of the Almora District Cooperative Bank, Joint Registrar Neeraj Belwal for the Nainital District Cooperative Bank, and Deputy Registrar (Headquarters) Manoj Kumar Punetha for the Pithoragarh District Cooperative Bank.
The government believes that the appointment of experienced departmental officers will improve administrative and financial coordination within District Cooperative Banks, further strengthening cooperative banking services and making them more efficient, responsive, and people-centric.
