Dehradun, 28 Jul: St. Jude’s School inaugurated MindSpree 2026, its Annual Academic and Creative Inter-School Festival, welcoming students from twenty-two leading schools across Dehradun and neighbouring regions on 27 July. The Opening Day witnessed an exciting blend of Science, Technology, Art, Literature and Communication, providing young minds with a vibrant platform to demonstrate their creativity, innovation, critical thinking and collaborative spirit.
The first day of Mindspree 2026 witnessed a series of exciting Inter-School Competitions that showcased the creativity, knowledge, and talents of students from various Schools. The events included the Inter-School Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competition, in which participants demonstrated their technological skills and innovative ideas, along with the Inter-School Science Project Competition that highlighted scientific curiosity and problem-solving abilities. Students also took part in the English Extempore Debate Competition, the Inter-School Storytelling Contest, and the Inter-School PowerPoint Presentation Contest, displaying their communication, creativity, and presentation skills. The day concluded with the Inter-School Art Competition, which celebrated artistic expression and imagination among young talents.
In the Inter-School Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Competition, participants presented innovative Artificial Intelligence and robotics-based solutions to real-world challenges. Summer Valley School were adjudged the Winners, while Shri Ram Centennial School were the First Runners-Up.
The Inter-School Science Project Competition showcased exceptional scientific talent and innovative thinking. Shri Ram Centennial School emerged as the Winner for its eco-friendly Project Kulhad AC, while Mount Fort Academy secured the Runners-Up position for its insightful presentation on CRISPR Technology.
The Senior English Extempore Debate Competition highlighted the participants’ eloquence, analytical ability and confidence as they debated the motion, “Despite Today’s Turmoil, Humanity Is Living Through Its Greatest Age Yet”. Ann Mary School emerged as the Overall Debating Champions, with St Joseph’s Academy securing the First Runners-Up position. Sanchit Batra of Ann Mary School was adjudged the Best Speaker.
Equally inspiring was the Inter-School Storytelling Contest, in which students enthralled the audience with original narratives based on contemporary themes. Himadri of St Thomas’ College secured the First Position, while Aanya Tripathi of St Jude’s School won the Second Position. In the true spirit of sportsmanship, the host school relinquished the Runners-Up Trophy, which was awarded to Mahi Singh of Mount Fort Academy.
Another significant highlight of the day was the Inter-School PowerPoint Presentation Contest, which encouraged students to explore contemporary issues through technology-enabled presentations. Participants from fifteen prestigious schools presented well-researched and visually engaging presentations on topics related to science, technology, environment, education, health, innovation, media and current affairs. The contestants impressed the judges with their creativity, digital competence, confident delivery and effective use of multimedia tools. The Competition concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognising outstanding performances and celebrating the participants’ communication, research and ICT skills. Shri Ram Centennial were adjudged the Winners, while The Presidency International School were declared the First Runners-Up.
The Inter-School Art Competition celebrated imagination and artistic excellence, with Students from eighteen renowned Schools presenting thought-provoking works across a range of creative themes. The exhibition reflected remarkable originality, visual expression and contemporary relevance. In Category A, Priyanshu of DPSG was the Winner, Prisha Rana of TonsBridge, the First Runners-Up, and Ved Hatwal of St Thomas’ College, the Second Runners-Up. In Category B, Anamika Rawat of St Jude’s claimed the first position, while Garvika Choudhary of Shri Ram Centennial School, the Second Position and Manvi Rawat of The Oasis secured the third position. In Category C, Meenal Chanchal of Ann Mary emerged as the Winner, with Shourya Rawat of St Joseph’s Academy securing the second position.
Throughout the day, all Competitions were evaluated by eminent academicians, subject experts and professionals who commended the participants for their originality, innovation, presentation skills and depth of understanding. Prize distribution ceremonies celebrated the achievements of the winners while acknowledging the enthusiastic participation and dedication of every contestant.
The successful conclusion of Day 1 of MindSpree 2026 reaffirmed St Jude’s School’s commitment to nurturing scientific inquiry, technological innovation, artistic expression, creativity and effective communication.
