CM participates in youth dialogue at Gurukul Kangri University

HARIDWAR, 1 Aug: Addressing the youth dialogue programme at Gurukul Kangri University here on Saturday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the confidence visible on the faces of young people is proof that the future of India is in safe hands. He described Gurukul Kangri University not merely as an educational institution but as a living symbol of Indian culture, nationalism and values, where students are imparted not only academic knowledge but also lessons in character building, national service and Indian ethos.
The CM noted that India on Saturday is the youngest country in the world, with more than 65 per cent of its population below the age of 42, and this youth power is the greatest strength in building a developed India. He emphasised that today’s youth are not job seekers but job creators, generating employment through start‑ups and innovation. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, schemes such as Start‑up India, Stand‑up India, Make in India, Skill India, Khelo India and Fit India have opened new opportunities for young people.
Dhami also asserted that the Uttarakhand government is also promoting employment and self‑employment through initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana, Mukhyamantri Yuva Prerak Yojana, Deendayal Upadhyay Grameen Vikas Yojana, Skill Development Yojana, One District Two Products scheme, House of Himalaya brand, State Millet Mission, Apple Mission, Solar Swarozgar Yojana, new tourism policy and the new film policy. He informed that the state has recorded 44 per cent reverse migration and achieved a historic reduction in unemployment rate by 4.4 per cent, while Uttarakhand has secured the first position in the country in the NITI Aayog’s Sustainable Development Goals Index.
The CM said that to safeguard the future of youth, the strictest anti‑cheating law in the country has been implemented in the state. In the past four and a half years, more than 100 cheating mafia have been sent to jail and over 34,000 youths have been given government jobs transparently, which is more than double compared to previous governments.
The programme organiser and state vice president of Yuva Morcha Vikram Bhullar welcomed the Chief Minister with an angavastra and a memento. Among those present at the included Cabinet Minister Madan Kaushik, MLA Ranipur Adesh Chauhan, Vice Chancellor Pratibha Luthra, BJP District President Ashutosh Sharma, former Cabinet Minister Swami Yatishwaranand, Shivalik Nagar Palika Chairman Rajiv Sharma, State Minister Dr Jaipal Singh Chauhan, Shobharam Prajapati, Shyamvir Saini, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Singh Bhullar, Municipal Commissioner Nandan Kumar, Chief Development Officer Dr Lalit Narayan Mishra, Additional District Magistrate Jitendra Kumar, SP Traffic Nisha Yadav, SP Traffic Abhay Pratap Singh along with public representatives and a large number of youth.
