Dehradun, 2 Oct: Commissioner and Secretary, Revenue Council, Uttarakhand, Ranjana Rajguru, on Thursday, conducted a detailed review of land transfer (mutation) cases and the functioning of subordinate revenue courts in the state. The meeting reviewed the status of revenue judicial work being carried out by Assistant Collectors First Class/Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and other concerned officials in all districts.
The Commissioner and Secretary directed officials to ensure that cases related to mutation are resolved within the stipulated timeframe, based on merits and demerits, in accordance with the rules. She emphasised that there should be no unnecessary delays in the disposal of cases, and that timely justice should be prioritized. All presiding officers should ensure that the work of revenue courts is conducted in a timely and systematic manner.
She also directed that records and necessary registers related to revenue courts be regularly updated. She emphasized that court records should be organized and complete, ensuring clear case status and avoiding unnecessary delays in the subsequent judicial process.
The Commissioner and Secretary directed that the files of disposed cases be submitted to the record room on time, as per the rules, so that in the event of an appeal, the original files could be made available to the relevant appellate court in a timely manner. She also directed that the timely service of summons issued by the courts be ensured.
Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring the timely service of summons related to name transfer cases in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts.
The Revenue Council is preparing to organize a “Name Transfer Day” in the state next month. Presiding officers of all tehsils in the state were instructed to ensure necessary preparations now.
The review meeting was attended by the Revenue Council’s Joint Director (Consolidation), Naresh Chandra Durgapal, Deputy Revenue Commissioner, Meenakshi Patwal, District Government Advocate (Revenue), Nitin Vashisht, and all the Additional District Magistrates of the state.
